A 26-year-old man was shot dead in southeast Delhi’s Kilokari village by three youths over an old enmity, a senior officer said here on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Adil.

The police have arrested the accused identified as Rehan, Faizal and Saphel (aged between 18 and 20 years) in this regard.

Sharing details, DCP (southeast) Ravi Kumar Singh said they received a PCR call at 3 am. The caller stated that that some people had shot his brother.

The police reached the spot and found out that the injured had already been rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre by his relatives. Adil, who was shot in the head, was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

A case was registered and an investigation was initiated. Adil’s brother, who was an eyewitness to the incident, told the police that Rehan, Faizal and Saphel, all residents of Sunlight Colony, shot Adil.

“The police apprehended the accused and recovered the weapon used in the crime,” the DCP said. He said prima facie it appears that the murder was the fallout of an old enmity.

“Rehan stated that Aadil abused him on Monday, which provoked him to commit the crime. However, we are verifying the facts,” the officer added.
