The Haryana 112 Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) has recorded major strides in emergency handling, with over 2.31 crore calls attended and 46.6 lakh vehicle dispatches since its inception. In April 2025 alone, the system attended 6,06,039 calls — up from 5.35 lakh in April 2024 — reflecting growing usage and improved efficiency.

Chaired by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, the 13th meeting of the State Empowered Committee (SEC) reviewed key metrics. “Response times have improved significantly. Police response is now down to 7 minutes 3 seconds from over 12 minutes in 2022, while medical emergencies now average under 13 minutes,” said Rastogi. Fire service responses remain steady at around 33 minutes.

Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Sumita Misra highlighted new initiatives. The Trip Monitoring Service (TMS), launched in November 2023, enhances women's travel safety by allowing real-time location sharing via WhatsApp. Over 300 trips have been successfully monitored. Databases of 94,000 working women and 87,000 auto-rickshaws have been integrated to support faster identification and response.

Cybercrime handling has also seen gains, with 7.25 lakh calls in 2024. The state recovered Rs 268.40 crore out of Rs 980 crore reported defrauded —a 27% recovery rate, more than double the previous year. Misra said 54 cyber terminals and 16 bank nodal officers are operating from the Panchkula-based emergency centre.

To curb misuse, abusive emergency callers are now auto-blocked after warnings. Persistent offenders trigger on-ground responses from Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs).

Looking ahead, Haryana 112 will launch AI-based auto-dispatch systems on a pilot basis in July 2025, replacing manual operations to further reduce response delays and boost efficiency.
