Following a directive from the Supreme Court (SC), a complete year-round ban on the use of firecrackers has been imposed across Mahendragarh district. Authorities will take strict action against individuals violating the order.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vivek Bharti stated that, in accordance with the SC’s ruling, all firecracker-related activities — such as manufacturing, storage, sale, online delivery and bursting — are prohibited throughout the year in the National Capital Region (NCR) of Haryana, which includes Mahendragarh. He explained that this measure has been adopted in the interest of protecting the environment and public health and will contribute significantly to maintaining air quality. Citizens are urged to adhere to the ban and also spread awareness within their communities.

The DC further warned that violations would be met with strict enforcement by the district administration, police and environmental authorities. Offenders could face both fines and imprisonment under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and other relevant laws.
