Panic gripped Indira Colony on the Chabal road after several persons allegedly shot at a man over an old enmity.

The injured, identified as Surinder, alias Gama, was rushed to hospital and his condition is stated to be serious.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishaljit Singh said the police got information about the firing instance in Indira Colony on the Chabal road following which police teams reached the spot and registered an FIR on charges of attempt to murder and under the Arms Act after a preliminary probe. He said some suspects were rounded up by the police and raids were on to nab those nominated by name in the case.

Ashu, a resident of the locality, said Sunny Chawla, Love Luhara and Veeru had opened fire on him. However, he narrowly escaped in the incident while Surinder Gama who was inside the house suffered a bullet injury. He alleged the accused fired around five gunshots at them.
