The two accused identified as, Abhiraj Singh and his accomplice Rahul Kumar, alias Mota, arrested for gangster Ravneet Singh, alias Sonu Mota’s murder, were produced in a local court here today which sent them to three-day police custody for further investigation.
The police have yet to recover pistol used in the crime. Also the police are investigating involvement of any other person in the case.
Sonu Mota had five criminal cases registered against him including that of attempt to murder and under the NDPS Act. Sonu Mota was shot dead when he, along with his friend Angaddeep Singh of Antaryami Colony, were returning home after paying obeisance at a shrine in the Kathiawala Bazaar area here on Tuesday evening.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Jaspal Singh said further probe was on. He said the police were making efforts to recover the weapon used in the crime.
According to the police, Abhiraj and Rahul had escaped to Dharamsala and then to Manali after committing murder of Sonu Mota. The duo was further fleeing towards Lahaul Spiti when they were chased and arrested by the police near Bhootnath Temple in Manali.
