The police arrested two of the seven persons who had allegedly stolen arms and ammunition from a gun house in Tarn Taran four days back. On the information of the arrested suspects the police recovered eleven DBBL guns dumped under the earth alongside a drain in Tarn Taran. Five of the suspects are yet to be arrested, the police said.

SSP Ashwani Kapur in a press conference said here on Saturday that the arrested suspects were identified as Charanjit Singh of Kakka Kandila village and Krishan Singh Gora of Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar in Tarn Taran. The SSP said the theft was jointly investigated by the Tarn Taran police and the Anti-Gangster Task Force. The suspects by breaking the wall of the gun house had stolen 16 DBBL 12 bore guns ,one 30.06 gun, four revolvers, one pistol and 58 cartridges of different range.

The SSP said the arrested suspects during preliminary interrogation revealed that they had dumped the arms and the ammunition under the earth at the local Kasur Drain. Charanjit Singh is facing a criminal case registered by the city police.
