2 killed in road accident near Fatehbad village in Tarn Taran

Two persons were killed on the spot in a road accident near Fatehbad village on the Tarn Taran-Goindwal Sahib road on Tuesday night.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Satnam Singh of the Goindwal Sahib police said the deceased have been identified as Amandeep Singh (35) and Ranjit Singh (40), residents of Chutala village. Both were related to each other and were on way to Goindwal Sahib on a motorcycle.

When they reached near Fatehbad village, both met with an accident with some unidentified vehicle. Both received serious injuries on the heads, as a result of which both died on the spot, said the Assistant Sub-Inspector.

The victims each had a son and a daughter. The postmortem of the bodies was conducted at the local Civil Hospital on Wednesday and were cremated at the cremation ground of Chutala village, said the Assistant Sub-Inspector.

The police have registered a case under Sections 281, 106 and 324 (4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
