2 models from Amritsar selected for national science exhibition

13 models of Punjab were selected at the national level

Two science models made by students of government schools in Amritsar have been selected to be featured in the competition category at the National-Level Children’s Science Exhibition-2025. The 52nd National Children’s Science Exhibition was organised by NCERT at the Regional Institute of Education in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, from November 18-23.

Rajesh Kumar Sharma, District Education Officer (DEO), Amritsar, Rajesh Khanna and Narinder Singh, nodal officers, National Innovation Campaign, said that due to the excellent performance of students of Punjab in the 52nd National Children’s Science Exhibition, 13 models of Punjab were selected at the national level. In total, 240 models from across the country have been shortlisted. These models were selected as the best model in the state-level science exhibition in 2024-25.

‘pervious concrete’, which highlighted important and modern technology to counter decreasing amount of groundwater,” said Narinder Singh.

Pervious concrete is a type of concrete with a high porosity that allows water to pass directly through it, which is used for flatwork applications like pavements to manage storm water runoff, recharge groundwater and reduce flooding. It is made with little or no fine aggregate, creating a system of interconnected voids that promote rapid drainage.

The second model, created by team of students from middle school in Pakharpura, was related to armed forces.
