Amritsar: The Municipal Corporation (MC) on Thursday sought suggestions from residents regarding the 24×7 treated water supply scheme under the Punjab Municipal Services Improvement Project (PMSIP). Komal Mittal, the Commissioner of the MC, said with help from the World Bank, the state was planning to introduce uninterrupted supply of treated water from to the city residents. The main objective of the project is to improve the water supply infrastructure and to invest in the development of water treatment plants. The suggestions given by the public will be used for refinement of the project. The Superintending Engineer (O&M) said suggestions could be sent on e-mail seommcasr@gmail.com or submitted on the PMSIP website by May 15. TNS
Migrants in UP demand help
Tarn Taran: A total of 30 workers from the district who are stranded in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh (UP) have urged the Punjab Government to help them return to their homes. Satnam Singh of Naushehera Pannuan, Nishan Singh of Khilchaian, Harjit Singh, Sonu Singh, Sahib Singh and others said they used to work at the construction site of a thermal plant in Aligarh and had been stranded since the lockdown was imposed. They said they had not been given salary for the past two months or any relief such as ration. oc
