The Punjab Government has extended the exemption for the sale and purchase of plots in unauthorised colonies until August 31. Sanjeev Rampal, the state convenor of the Punjab Real Estate Dealers and Colonizers Association, welcomed the government’s decision, saying it would benefit both the people and the real estate business while also increase the government’s revenue.

However, Rampal criticised the government for failing to introduce a simplified real estate policy even after three years of assuming power in the state. He warned that unless the government took proactive steps, it would face increasing opposition from people.
