400th anniv celebrations: High mast LED lights installed in city

In the wake of the 400th birth anniversary of Guru Teg Bhadhur, the Municipal Corporation Amritsar (MCA) has installed high mast LED lights at all interjections and main buildings of the city.
The civic body spent Rs24 lakh on this project. The MC had planned inauguration of the project, but following the rise in Covid-19 cases, the function has been cancelled.
The high mast LED lights got functional at Hathi Gate, Lohgarh Chowk, Man Singh Gate, Gurdwara Saheedan and Chatiwind Gate. These 190 watt high mast LED would not be removed even after the celebrations are over.
Apart from this, the historic gates including Hall Gate, Hathi Gate, Lahori Gate, Gate Hakima, Sultanwind Gate, Chatiwind Gate and Khajana Gate are decorated with colourful lights. The MC will decorate several other buildings within the next two days.
Mayor Karmajit Singh Rintu said: “The lights are a symbol of celebrations and the city is being decked up for the celebration of 400th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Teg Bhadhur. We are making several other arrangements for sanitation and encroachment-free paths to Gurdwara Guru Ka Mahal.”
