5 arrested for arms theft at Tarn Taran gun house

The police arrested five more suspects on Thursday with four .32 bore revolvers and one .32 bore pistol that were stolen from a local gun house owned by Manmeet Singh on February 28.
The thieves had decamped with 16 double barrel breech loading (DBBL) guns, one rifle, four .32 bore revolvers, one .32 bore pistol and 58 cartridges of different types after breaking a wall of the gun house. The district police and the Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) is jointly investigating the theft case.
Tarsem Masih, DSP, Tran Taran, and Harminder Singh Sandhu, DSP, AGTF, said on Thursday that the suspects arrested today, were identified as Baldev Singh Vikky, Jaspal Singh, Prinspal Singh and Gurdev Singh, residents of Kakka Kandiala, and Vipandeep Singh, a resident of Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, Tarn Taran. Surjit Singh, a resident of Kakka Kandiala, who was nominated in the case, was yet to be arrested. The police said three DBBL guns and 58 cartridges were yet to be recovered from the suspects. The police had already registered a case under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC in this regard.
