Two persons were arrested with 559 grams of heroin and illegal weapon on Friday.
The police said that the Khalra police led by sub-inspector Lakhbir Singh arrested one Raj Singh Raju, a resident of Kilha Patti with 503 grams of heroin from Van Tara Singh village. Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bhikhiwind, Preetinder Singh said that the accused had brought the consignment from Pakistan with the help of a drone. A case under section of 21-C, 61, 85 of the NDPS Act and section 10,11 and 12 of the Aircraft Act has been registered.
In another instance, the Sadar police led by sub-inspector Rani Kaur arrested one Sukhjinder Singh, a resident of Thakarpura with 56 grams of heroin and a country-made pistol and cartridges from a naka set up on the Rasulpur canal. The accused has been booked under provisions of the NDPS Act and Arms Act.
