65 students from Gujarat vet university visit Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Amritsar
Sixty-five students from the College of Veterinary Science, Kamdhenu University, Anand (Gujarat), recently embarked on an enriching educational tour to Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Science (KCVAS), Amritsar. The educational tour included a series of interactive sessions, live demonstrations and exposure to advanced veterinary practices. The students were given a guided tour of the college’s well-equipped laboratories, animal housing facilities and clinical units, allowing them to observe and understand modern veterinary techniques in real time.
Principal, KCVAS, Dr HK Verma briefed the students on the history of the college, highlighting its establishment and key milestones in veterinary education. The students learned about the institution’s contributions to the field, various endeavours and its commitment to advancing veterinary science.
Dr SK Kansal, HOD, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education, addressed the students, providing insights into the high-quality education offered at KCVAS.
Dr Nitasha Sambyal emphasised the importance of such educational tours in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation. During the visit, experts from KCVAS conducted informative lectures and practical demonstrations on subjects such as animal surgical procedures, pathological techniques, diagnostic procedures and modern treatment methodologies. The students gained valuable insights into innovative veterinary procedures, including ultrasonography, radiology and advanced surgical techniques used for treating both domestic and farm animals.
