Cash worth Rs 7.75 lakh was stolen from the cash box by breaking the locks of the office of Sai Filling station situated on the Tarn Taran-Goindwal Sahib road at Alawalpur village here on Sunday morning.

Deepak Chaurasia, manager of the filling station, lodged a complaint with the local Sadar police, which registered a case on Monday.

ASI Sukhdev Singh of the local Sadar police said the complainant on the facts gathered information from the video of CCTVs installed in the petrol pump. The police have registered a case under Sections 331 (4) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
