Rajya Sabha Member Sanjay Singh, Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal visited flood-affected villages near Ramdass to meet the families in distress and distribute relief material. They handed over rations, tarpaulins, fodder for cattle and other essential supplies in villages like Ghoniwal and nearby areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Singh said the Punjab Government will provide every possible help to the affected families. He explained that officials are already assessing the damage caused by floods and that compensation will be given soon after crop loss surveys are completed.
He assured the families that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s government stands firmly with the people in this difficult time. “This is the time for unity, not politics. All Punjabis should come together to support those in need,” he added.
Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO said that people in Ajnala region had lost almost everything, even bed and clothes. He said the government was committed to ensuring that every family received relief material and due compensation.
MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said he was personally visiting villages every day to supply rations. He added that the district administration was working round the clock to provide help and that orders had already been issued to conduct crop loss surveys so that maximum compensation could be delivered. The leaders appealed to the public to rise above party politics and extend humanitarian help to the victims. “When people are in pain, our duty is to stand by them and give them strength,” said Dhaliwal.
