The Chabal police claimed to have resolved the sacrilege incident on Thursday in which the holy pages (angs) of Sri Gutka Sahib were seen torn and scattered in the streets of Chabal Khurd village on Wednesday.

DSP, Tarn Taran sub-division, Riputapan Singh Sandhu said here that the accused have been identified as Surjit Kaur and her daughter-in-law (son’s wife) Rajbir Kaur of the same village. The accused are Amritdhari’.

The incident came to the notice of Baljinder Singh, secretary of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and others, residents of the village on Wednesday morning. The Gutka Sahib of Sri Sukhmani Sahib was distributed among the students of the village school by Sikh Aids, a religious organisation. The accused took the Gutka Sahib from their kid, tore it and threw the pages in the streets of the village. The DSP said a case has been registered.
