ADC reviews preparations for polio drive beginning Jan 19

Additional Deputy Commissioner(ADC) Himanshu Aggarwal here on Wednesday held a meeting to review the arrangement for polio immunisation round beginning January 19.

Civil Surgeon Dr Pradeep Kaur Johal and other officials were also present on the occasion.

Aggarwal said polio drops would be administered to 3,12,665 children in the age group of 0-5 years. He appealed residents to ensure that polio drops were provided to all children. He asked public to cooperate with the polio teams.

Dr Pradeep Kaur said the department in collaboration with voluntary organisations would ensure that no child was left unimmunised. She said for this purpose 1,429 booths, 2,858 teams, 292 supervisors, 48 mobile teams and 76 transit teams had been deployed. She added that teams would also be deployed at bus stands and railway stations. Mobile teams have been constituted to cover brick kilns, factories, construction sites and slums.
