Amrit Utsav presents cultural tapestry of India

The Amrit Utsav, a fusion of Indian classical dance and music, presented the vibrant cultural composition of Indian classical performing arts at Virsa Vihar, Amritsar.

Organised by Virsa Vihar Society and Kala Chaitanya, Delhi, Amrit Utsav enthralled the audience with the essence of classical dance, music and Indian tradition featuring internationally renowned Kathak artist Vishwadeep and Delhi-based Kumari Aanchal Sharma and Kumari Aastha Gupta.

Virsa Vihar president and eminent playwright Kewal Dhaliwal, who was the programme coordinator and renowned classical dancer Dr Rashmi Nanda, termed the event as a step towards enriching the cultural consciousness of Amritsar and stressed on the need to promote and preserve Indian classical arts.

"All the performances presented during the cultural evening were a special attraction for the audience due to their quality, awareness and beauty. Such events, when encouraged through audience, offer exposure to unique and celebrated Indian art forms while also engaging artistes of national, international repute with the local community," said Dhaliwal.

The duet performance by Kumari Aanchal Sharma and Kumari Aastha Gupta was well received by the audience for their rhythmic, clean footwork and expressive expressions.

This was followed by a duet performance by Ruchika Bagga and Suraj Kumar, showcasing the melodious harmony of music and dance, beautifully presenting the traditional style of Kathak. Their performance received special praise. The highlight of the evening was the solo performance by Vishwadeep. His technical mastery, eloquence, precision in tihai and paran, and depth of expression filled the atmosphere with a unique sense of spirituality and beauty.
