Jailed MP Amritpal's father stopped from participating in Quomi Insaaf Morcha
Jailed pro-Khalistan activist and Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh’s father Tarsem Singh on Tuesday was detained at his house in Jallupur Khera village by Amritsar police. He was prevented from taking part in the Quomi Insaaf Morcha in Mohali.
Following his house arrest, Tarsem Singh recorded a video message and called people to attend the Quomi Insaaf Morcha in large numbers. He also condemned the police action and targeted Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann for oppression.
Singh recently announced plans to launch a new political party, the name of which would be announced at Maghi Mela at Muktsar Sahib.
Singh alleged that the government is weakening democracy by creating an atmosphere of fear in the village. “The Kaumi Insaf Morcha, now in its second year, was hosting a large gathering that we were supposed to attend, but since last night, police forces have been deployed throughout the village.”
“By denying people the right to voice their anger, the Bhagwant Mann government is undermining democracy. This is very disheartening. Whenever people gather to discuss an issue, they should not be obstructed”, he added.
Quomi Insaaf Morcha is organised in Mohali for the release of Sikh detainees for last two years.
