Amritsar CI seize 10kg heroin, Rs 1 lakh drug money; 2 arrested
Amritsar Counter intelligence (CI) has confiscated yet another haul of drugs from Amritsar and arrested two operatives of foreign-based smuggler Jassa.
Those arrested were identified as Gurpinder Singh of Chak Mishri village and Sajan of Indira Colony.
"In an intelligence-led operation, the CI busted an international narco-smuggling module operated by foreign-based smuggler Jassa and arrested his India-based operatives — Gurpinder Singh and Sajan, both residents of Amritsar, " said DGP Punjab Police Gaurav Yadav on X.
The CI confiscated 10kg heroin and Rs 1 lakh drug money from them.
The DGP said Jassa was wanted in multiple NDPS and Arms Act cases by the Punjab Police while a fresh FIR was registered at SSOC, police station here. Further investigation is underway to trace the forward and backward linkages, he added.
