Mandi, March 9

A resident of Punjab died due to drowning in Kullu district late Sunday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Vijay Singh (25), son of Sona Singh, resident of Kalagi under the Khalahiyan police station in Amritsar district.

The police said the deceased drowned in a gurdwara’s main ‘kund’ (pond) at Manikaran. He was taken out of the kund and rushed to the community health centre at Jari. The doctor on duty declared him brought dead.

The post-mortem examination was conducted at the regional hospital in Kullu. The body of the victim will be handed over to his family for last rites.
