Seventythree-year-old Brij Mohan Khanna, founder chairperson of Khanna Paper Mill Pvt Ltd (KPML), today accused his sons Rahul Khanna and Saurabh Khanna of unceremoniously kicking him out of the company office after he handed over the control of the mill to them.

Joined by his wife Renu Khanna (64), they alleged that their sons mistreated them and prevented their entry to the mill. Rahul is the chairman and managing director of the mill and Saurabh is its vice-chairman.

Brij Mohan said he started the venture in 1965 with mere Rs 10,000. “Today, it is worth Rs 5000-Rs 7000 crore. Now, on the directions of my sons, the security persons deputed at the gate denied entry to me and my wife, despite the fact that we still own 32 per cent share in the company,” he said.

He admitted that he had contested his case in the local court, but lost it.

Rahul said the family dispute was pending in the High Court. “Family and company are two different entities. We are open to redressing our personal grievances.” —TNS
