Three months after Kamlesh Rani (55), a resident of Ram Talai Chowk, was killed by an unidentified person, the police have released a CCTV grab of a suspect. The police were clueless about the identity of the suspect who was still evading arrest.

The victim was found murdered in the Ram Talai area on April 3. She was alone at home when she was murdered. She had sharp-edged weapon injuries on the head. Her husband Dev Raj runs a snacks stall near the bus stand on the main GT Road here. He told the police that his wife helped him at the stall and used to return home after the work.

On April 3, he asked his neighbour to bring ‘samosas’ from his wife at home. When his neighbour went home, he found her lying in a pool of blood with injuries on the head.

Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Investigations) said while scrutinising the CCTV cameras in the area, it was found that a man had entered and left the house at the time of crime. Nevertheless, his identity and residential address could not be found despite repeated efforts. He urged the people to share any information about the suspect with the police. They could contact ACP Headquarters, the Mohkampura police station or the control room.
