Amritsar: Students of Revel Dale Public School, Rangarh, Attari, celebrated the Republic Day at its campus on Thursday. Children were told that Indian constitution directs all its citizens to believe in equality, justice, fraternity, secularism and democratic principles. The theme of the special assembly on the occasion was “Constitution and Constitutional Values”. A poem on this theme was recited by the students. A dance was also performed on the song based on constitutional values. Children of the school resolved to work in a manner that they would emerge as the pride of the nation.
Bhavan’s SL Public School
Bhavan’s SL Public School, Amritsar, celebrated 75th Republic Day with unprecedented patriotic fervour on January 26 at its premises. Dr Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh graced the ceremony as the chief guest. Rotarian Vipan Bhasin, district governor(2023-24), PS Grover, district governor elect(2024-25), Rohit Oberoi, district governor nominee(2025-26) were the guests of honour. Chairman Avinash Mohindru, director-principal Anita Bhalla and vice-principal Praveen Sharma, amidst dignitaries, unfurled the national flag. School’s band team, NCC cadets and scouts and guides students presented the parade. A group song on patriotism by the students of Gyandeep School (school for underprivileged children) and group dance by the students of Muskaan School( school for specially abled children) were presented. Bhavanites showcased folk dances. Dr Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, special guest, underlined in his speech about honesty, integrity and respect for others.
DAV Public School, Lawrence Road
Lala Lajpat Rai, an eminent personality of Indian freedom struggle, was remembered with reverence by the students of DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar. He was born on January 28, 1865, in Punjab. Lala Lajpat Rai joined Arya Samaj and besides practicing law, he worked for collecting funds for Dayanand College and participated in various movements for the freedom of India. He also contributed to the famous trio — Lal, Bal, Pal. The students shared about his inspiring life and recited poems and sang patriotic songs to commemorate his Jayanti and saluted this great patriot with the nationalist spirit. In the end, they pledged to take inspiration from his life and join hands to spread universal brotherhood.
DAV College, Amritsar
The 75th Republic Day of India was celebrated with gaiety and patriotic fervour at DAV College here on January 26. The ceremony took place in the presence of principal Amardeep Gupta, vice-principal Daizy Sharma, registrar Anita Mahajan, administrator Nivedita Sharma, bursar Kuldeep Singh Arya, warden Meenu Aggrawal and Harsimran Singh, and HoDs of various departments, faculty, staff members and students. The ceremony commenced with the unfurling of the national flag by the principal Amardeep Gupta. Gupta addressed the gathering and highlighted the achievements of the college. He briefly discussed the issues that the nation is currently facing and urged everyone to unite and stand against them. The heartfelt renditions of patriotic song by cadet Kashish aroused feelings of love and brotherhood among all.
