The District Volleyball Association, Amritsar, has announced that the Volleyball Sub-Junior (Under-16) Championship-2025 will be organised from November 1, at the volleyball court of Khalsa School, Amritsar. Only registered teams from institutions in Amritsar district will participate in this tournament.
According to the District Volleyball Association, only registered clubs, schools, academies and recognised institutions from Amritsar district are eligible to take part. It is mandatory for all participating players to be born after January 1, 2010, in order to meet the sub-junior category rules. Players are also required to carry their original birth certificates for age verification at the venue.
Gurjeet Aujla, Member of Parliament and president of the Volleyball Association of Punjab, stated that this championship will provide a golden opportunity for young and emerging players of Amritsar to showcase their talent. He emphasised that volleyball has deep roots in Punjab and that such tournaments inspire young players to progress to higher levels, including the state level.
Aujla further added that the Association aims to conduct all matches in a transparent and fair manner, ensuring proper recognition for the winners. He also appealed to sports enthusiasts of the district to attend the event in large numbers and encourage young players.
"This championship is expected to promote discipline, teamwork and confidence among the youth of Amritsar, while giving a new direction and energy to the sport of volleyball in the region," said Aujla.
