Like most Amritsarians, the Crystal Softy Corner on the Queens Road holds many delicious memories for me, especially from my childhood days during the 90s. Many of those mouth-watering moments were refreshed when I visited it recently. I noticed the same joy on the faces around, young and the old alike, which proved that its magic was still the same.

Though the place offers a variety of flavours, its classic offering twin-flavour vanilla and strawberry softy continues to be the best seller. One bite and I was transported back to my childhood as the taste was as exciting as it used to be in those days.

No wonder, I would miss this softy even when I would eat ice creams of famous international brands when I went abroad for my higher studies. That is exactly why that when people here have guests, they always take them to experience one of the Amritsar’s tastiest specialities — Crystal’s softy. It is another matter that Crystal’s, the first to introduce the soft ice cream machine in the city, brought its softy machine from Italy.
