Anganwari staff threaten stir

Tarn Taran: Resentment prevails among Anganwari workers and helpers as they had not been paid their remuneration for the last four months. A deputation of the local district unit of Anganwari Mulazam Union (CITU), Punjab, led by Anoop Kaur Balehar president and Veer Kaur Assal presented a memorandum to the District Programme Officer (DPO) here on Wednesday. The leaders of the union warned the administration that in case the remuneration is not paid timely the organisation would go on agitation path from September 30. The leaders said that the Anganwari workers and the helpers who were already given meager contribution were facing hardships. The leaders said the other demands of the organisation include releasing appointment orders to the deserving on compassionate ground, issue smart phones to all the Anganwari workers, presence be made compulsory by the CDPO in their offices definitely.
