Army man, 2 others arrested with heroin

A serving Army personnel and two of his accomplices were arrested after the Gurdaspur police found 270 grams of pure-grade heroin and some unauthorised arms and ammunition from them.

SSP Aditya said the operation to apprehend the three was handled by DSP Rajinder Manhas. The miscreants were arrested after the cops had received intelligence inputs about their activities. The SSP said the three were traveling in a car when they were signalled to stop at a check post near Behrampur police station. The police had been following their activities for a few days. Malkit is posted with 15th Punjab regiment in Fazilka. “The persons travelling with Malkit have been identified as Paras Saini and Rohit Saini. Apart from heroin, a pistol, a magazine and some rounds of ammunition were seized,” said SSP Aditya.
