Bank holds camp to increase outreach of Central schemes for financial inclusion

Over 300 customers participated in the Financial Inclusion Saturation Campaign organised here by HDFC Bank, one of India’s leading private sector banks here today.

The camp was aimed at extending the reach of flagship government schemes including Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).

The initiative is part of the three-month nationwide Financial Inclusion Campaign launched by the Department of Financial Services on July 1 this year. The campaign will continue till September 30.

The camp was graced by Vivek Srivastava, Regional Director, RBI (Chandigarh); Pankaj Setiya, General Manager, RBI; Lalit Batra, Executive vice-president, HDFC Bank; and Amit Gagneja, along with other senior officials from the RBI and HDFC Bank.

In addition to scheme enrolments, HDFC Bank also conducted awareness sessions on ReKYC (Periodic updating of KYC) services and digital fraud prevention, sensitising participants on safe digital banking practices to safeguard themselves from cyber frauds.
