Birth anniversary of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh celebrated

The birth anniversary of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh was celebrated with religious fervour and devotion as devouts paid obeisance at the gurdwara dedicated to his memory here on Monday. Stalls of langar serving choicest food, including cakes and pastries, were put up across the city.
SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami attended the bhog of ‘Akhand Path’ and congratulated the sangat over the occasion. He said the contribution of Baba Deep Singh to the Sikh panth was immense. He not only valiantly fought against invading Afghan army, led by Ahmed Shah Abdali, but also wrote five copies of the Guru Granth Sahib which were placed at Takhts.
Rajinder Singh Sangha of Sewak Jatha Ishnan Amrit Vela said the entire gurdwara complex was decorated with exotic flowers.
