Over 45 industry representatives participated in the seminar organised by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Jammu and Kashmir Branch Office (JKBO), here on Friday. The topic for the seminar was “Screw standards and quality control orders”, here on Friday.

Tilak Raj, director and head, BIS-JKBO, welcomed the attendees and highlighted the efforts made by BIS to involve stakeholders in the standardisation process.

A technical session was also conducted by Niraj Kumar Mishra, Deputy Director, BIS-JKBO, covering the screw industry and the grant of licence process. The interactive discussions allowed industry representatives from the region to share insights and provide feedback for effective implementation of BIS norms.

The seminar reaffirmed the commitment of BIS to ensuring quality and safety in the screw sector while strengthening collaboration between regulatory bodies and industries for efficient standard enforcement.
