Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla on Sunday asked Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Bittu to take responsibility of the victims of the stampede at the New Delhi railway station instead of engaging in politics about the deported youths. He said that while the deportees from the US have safely reached their homes, many families were devastated in the stampede due to mismanagement, for which Bittu, as a railway minister, also bears responsibility.

Aujla stated that Bittu’s presence at the airport last evening was not solely for the purpose of raising his voice for the deported Indians, but rather for political gain. “If he was really pained for the deportees, then he would have questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi about why the youth on the second plane were also brought back in handcuffs,” he said.

Aujla further said that Bittu should raise his voice for the justice of those lost who have lost their lives due to the railway’s mismanagement. “As a leader from Punjab, Ravneet Bittu should have first spoken to the Centre and ensured that our people were brought back with dignity,” he said.
