BSF, ANTF personnel recover heroin, 2 drones from peddler
During investigation into a drug recovery case yesterday, the Border Security Force (BSF) in a joint operation with the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) arrested another peddler leading to the confiscation of 873gm of heroin from his possession.
On February 15 evening, the BSF and the ANTF raided a house of an alleged drug peddler following intelligence inputs leading to the seizure of two packets of heroin with a gross weight of 1.56kg. The arrested peddler was identified as Shamsher Masih, a resident of Chak Bal village falling under the Ajnala police station here. The accused was arrested and handed over to the ANTF for further interrogation. The drug was wrapped in a white polythene and further packed in a white cloth.
After Masih’s interrogation today, the BSF and the ANTF launched extensive search operation in the designated area leading to the arrest of another cross-border narco smuggler identified as Sunny Masih of Nangal Sohal village falling under the Ramdass police station here. The BSF and the ANTF recovered 873gm of heroin from his possession. The contraband was smuggled from Pakistan.
The BSF also recovered two drones and heroin consignment from the international border in Amritsar district on Monday. The search operation was carried out in Galluwal village where a drone was found in a farming field.
In another incident, the BSF seized a drone along with a packet containing 550gm of heroin from Rajatal village in the border belt.
