BSF foils smuggling attempt, nabs Indian smuggler

In a joint operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Special Task Force (STF), Amritsar, apprehended one Indian smuggler along with a mobile phone yesterday. Based on his revelations the joint party conducted a thorough search and recovered a packet containing 550 grams of suspected heroin from the area adjacent to Balharwal village.

The operation was carried out based on the intelligence gathered through analysis of drone movement and suitable corroboration by the BSF intelligence wing.

The operation was conducted as part of the coordinated efforts between the BSF and Punjab Police to curb smuggling activities along the border.

In another instance, the vigilant BSF troops recovered two drones from the border area of Amritsar and Fazilka district. A joint search with Punjab Police culminated in the recovery of one DJI Mavic Classic 3 drone from a field adjacent to Rattan Khurd village in Amritsar. Similarly, another assembled Quadcopter drone was recovered from a farming field adjacent to P S Wala Hitter village in Fazilka district.
