The BSF and the police in a joint search operation at two different places in border area in Khalra sector recovered heroin and parts of a pistol with ammunition on Friday.

The BSF and the police in a joint information said that during a search operation in a farming field adjacent to Van Tara Singh village, a packet containing 507 grams of heroin and 76 grams of packing material was removed from under soil.

The joint party of BSF jawans and cops during the search in the evening recovered a pistol without slide and barrel, and two magazines from the farming field adjacent to Dal village. The weapon was wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and a metal wire loop was also found attached to it.

Swift action by the BSF and Punjab Police on precise inputs helped successfully thwarted a few more nefarious attempts of cross border narco-terror syndicate.

The Khalra police have registered cases under relevant sections of the NDPS Act and the Arms Act.
