The police and the BSF, in a joint search operation — launched in the border area in Dall village — recovered 2.846kg heroin and a motorbike without a number-plate on Friday. Sub Inspector Lakhbir Singh of the Khalra police said that he received some secret information and shared it with the BSF.

SI Lakhbir Singh said the two bike-borne men, who absconded from the spot had brought the consignment from across the border through a drone. A case under Section 21-C, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act and Section 10, 11, 12 of the Air Craft Act has been registered by the Khalra police.
