In a major haul of narcotics smuggled from Pakistan, the Border Security Force (BSF) has confiscated 8.56kg heroin dropped by a drone near Balharwal village, located near the Indo-Pak border in Amritsar. This significant seizure highlights the increasing use of bigger drones, including hexacopters, for cross-border drug peddling by anti-national entities in Pakistan.

The BSF authorities stated that they acted on credible intelligence provided by the BSF intelligence wing regarding smuggling activities in the area. A meticulously planned ambush was laid near the anticipated drone dropping zone. Around 7.45 am, the troops heard a big object being dropped. During the search, BSF recovered a large packet containing 15 small packets of contraband, weighing 8.56kg.
