The Zonal Youth Festival for the ‘C Zone’ commenced today at Guru Nanak Dev University, igniting a three-day celebration of cultural vibrancy and creativity.
Organised by the Youth Welfare Department, the event will unfold across four venues: Dashmesh Auditorium, Golden Jubilee Convention Centre, Sangat Hall, and Conference Hall, with events starting at 10 am daily, said Youth Welfare In-charge Prof (Dr) Amandeep Singh.
Dean Academic Affairs Prof Palwinder Singh inaugurated the festival. Addressing the students and educators, he emphasised the festival’s role in preserving Punjab’s rich cultural tapestry while fostering global perspectives.
Day one dazzled with performances in choreography, general dance and gidha at Dashmesh Auditorium; vaar singing, kavishri, classical vocal, classical instrumental (percussion) and folk orchestra at Golden Jubilee; on-the-spot painting, cartoon and collage making at Sangat Hall; and a poetical symposium, elocution in English and Punjabi/Hindi at Conference Hall.
