Cultural fest at DAV school

DAV Collegiate Sr Sec School organised “Blooming Teens” a cultural fest on Monday. The fest witnessed various cultural programme by students of XI and XII classes. Events like devotional choreography, singing, modelling, gazal, loknath and bhangra were presented by the students with great enthusiasm. Principal Rajesh Kumar welcomed all guests during the event. He appreciated the efforts of Anita Mahajan, coordinator of classes XI and XII for organising such events. The college provides fertile ground for students to showcase their talent, he added. Dr Anita Mahajan thanked Principal Rajesh Kumar for his constant guidance. The cultural fest is one of the most effective ways of bringing youth under the same platform, to enhance social interaction and facilitate change of idea and thought, she added. Dr Darshandeep Arora, vice- principal, Prof GS Sidhu, registrar, Dr Parveen Kumari, Dr Gurdas Singh Sekhon, Dr BB Yadav, Dr Daisy, Prof RK Jha, Prof Madan Mohan, Dr Ritu Sharma, Dr Kiran Khanna, Prof Amita Sharma, Dr Neeru Gupta, Prof Sanjay Mahajan, Prof Poonam Kumari and Prof Manik and staff members of the college were also present during the event.

Maths challenge for Class VIII-X

Students under the CBSE board will be tested for their mathematics skills under Aryabha?ta Ganit Challenge. The process will begin from November 18, under which a computer-based test designed to let the children appreciate and encourage the application of mathematics in their daily life.. The feedback from the performance of the test will help the board to handhold the schools and children in application of mathematics in daily life. The challenge highlights relevance of maths in our daily life. Students of classes VIII-X shall be taking part in the event. The top scorers will go in next round. The schools have to register for the same.

National table tennis tournament

Rakshit Mohla, a class XI student of DAV Public School , Lawrence Road, has won bronze medal in the U-19 category in the CBSE national table tennis tournament held at RR Public School, Bijnor, recently. Regional officer Punjab zone-A Neelam Kamra, Rajesh Kumar, Principal DAV College , Hathi Gate, congratulated the student for his brilliant performance and blessed him for his future endeavour.Dr.Neera Sharma, principal of the school, said it was an achievement par excellence.
