AGC Signs MoU with YAKP

Amritsar: The Amritsar Group of Colleges (AGC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with YAKP Pvt Ltd, an organisation known for its innovative educational services, skill development programmes, and the promotion of next generation of entrepreneurs. The MoU was signed by Dr Gaurav Tejpal, principal, AGC, and Kriti, Managing Director, YAKP, during a ceremony at AGC, Amritsar. The strategic partnership aims to enhance the employability of students, enrich the curriculum and provide hands-on skill development opportunities, paving the way for aspiring entrepreneurs and industry-ready professionals. Dr Gaurav Tejpal emphasised, “We are happy to collaborate with YAKP, an organisation dedicated to equipping students with industry-relevant skills. This collaboration will not only enhance our students’ learning journey but also contribute to shaping a skilled, responsible and entrepreneurial society.” Kriti added, “This MoU is a pivotal step towards empowering young minds, not just for their individual growth but also for the progress of their families, society and the nation as a whole.”

Prabal Chhabra state topper

DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar, announced that Prabal Chhabra, a student of Class IX-C, has been awarded the certificate of merit for securing a place among the top 1% of 935 candidates from Punjab in the prestigious National Standard Examination in Junior Science (NSEJS) 2024 conducted on November 24 and December 22, 2024 across 1,477 centres in India and overseas by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT). Principal Dr Pallavi Sethi congratulated him on this outstanding accomplishment and extended her best wishes for his future endeavours.

International Mother Language Day

Sant Singh Sukha Singh College of Commerce for Women celebrated the 25th International Mother Language Day, as observed by UNESCO, with enthusiasm and commitment to linguistic pride. The event witnessed the active participation of around 150 students, who expressed their thoughts through heartfelt poems and speeches on the significance of their mother tongue, Punjabi. During their presentations, students shed light on how Punjabi is gradually being overshadowed by other languages in today’s world. While recognising the value of learning multiple languages, they passionately emphasised the need to preserve and promote their native language. College principal Dr Navdeep Kaur highlighted the integral role of the mother tongue in shaping cultural identity. She encouraged students to actively communicate in Punjabi and cherish its heritage.

BBK DAV College organises havan

BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, organised a special Vedic Havan Yajna to celebrate the 200th birth anniversary of Swami Dayanand Saraswati. Dr Ramesh Arya, vice-president, DAV College Managing Committee, was the yajman for the Havan Yajna. The rituals began with the chanting of Gayatri Mantra and culminated with a bhajan performed by the Department of Music. Principal Dr Pushpinder Walia expressed her gratitude to the divine with the invocation “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah”. Dr Ramesh Arya inspired the students to work diligently and pray with unwavering dedication. He stressed that true success comes from aligning words with actions, highlighting that consistency is the key to achievement.
