The annual prize distribution ceremony 2023-24 was held at Sri Guru Harkrishan CKD School of Excellence, Daburji. It started with the recitation of Sri Sukhmani Sahib in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. After the Shabad Kirtan, six verses of Anand Sahib were recited. Prayers were also offered for students and the progress of the school. Langar was served to the students. On the occasion, the school’s member-in-charge Sarjot Singh Sahni, Harjit Singh Sachsewa and other CKD members were present. Principal Harkamalpreet Kaur Kalra honoured the children who scored well in their exams by giving them medals.

Livestock Census Review Meeting

Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (KCVAS) hosted the 21st livestock census review meeting. It was chaired by Rahul Bhandari, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development, Government of Punjab. Dr Verma took him for a tour of the infrastructural facilities created by the college like new Livestock Farm Complex, Educational Wall and Veterinary Hospital serving farmers and pet owners of the border area of Punjab. In his address, Bhandari laid emphasis on the importance of livestock census and how good quality data forms the baseline for the formulation and implementation of various schemes. The meeting was attended by Dr Navraj Sandhu, Deputy Director, AH Department, Veterinary Officers, Senior Veterinary Officers and other district AH Officers.
