Campus notes: Gurpurb celebrated at Khalsa college

The Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) celebrated the 358th Gurpurb of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru and founder of the Khalsa Panth, with religious fervour and devotion on the Khalsa College campus. The celebrations included the bhog of akhand path, kirtan, and insightful lectures on the Guru’s teachings and philosophy. Students of the Gurmat Study Centre performed meticulous kirtan recitals, singing Gurbani hymns and verses in praise of the Guru. The gurdwara complex was adorned with vibrant buntings and flowers, creating a serene ambiance for the prayers and ceremonies. Teachers, students, and staff members participated in the Ardas, seeking blessings. Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, Pro-Chancellor of Khalsa University and honorary secretary of KCGC, encouraged the youth to imbibe the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh, emphasising their relevance in today’s world. Historian Dr Inderjit Singh Gagoani delivered a detailed account of the Guru’s life, highlighting his advocacy for righteousness, peace, and communal harmony.

MCS students shine in legal academia

Montessori Cambridge School (MCS), Pathankot, proudly celebrated the exceptional accomplishments of its students in the field of law. Two remarkable achievers, Kanu Priya and Armaan Khanna, have made their mark at the national level. Kanu Priya, an alumna of MCS, secured All India Rank (AIR) 8 in the Civil Services Judiciary Examination, earning the prestigious title of Civil Judge in Haryana. After completing her LLB from Punjabi University, Patiala, she pursued an LLM from Symbiosis International University, Pune, and a PhD in Judiciary from Delhi University. Meanwhile, Class XII Humanities student Armaan Khanna achieved an impressive AIR 93 in CLAT 2025, securing early admission to NLSIU Bangalore, India’s top-ranked law university. The school lauded the students’ achievements as benchmarks of excellence in legal academia and a testament to their hard work and determination.
