Campus notes: Internship for DAV College students
Amritsar The Institution’s Innovation Council of DAV College, Amritsar, organised an internship training for students under the guidance of principal and IIC president Dr Amardeep Gupta. Abhishek Kumar, Rahul Kumar, Deepak Verma, Deepanshu Srivastav, Sarthak Sharma, Onkar Singh, Saurabh Bhatia and Sahastranshu Sharma of BCA and Abrar-ul-Haq, Ishan Chaudhary of B.Sc (IT) semester VI attended the internship programme at Trandata Technology Solutions Pvt Ltd. These students learnt about the diverse range of technologies, gaining hands-on experience in both front-end and back-end development like HTML, CSS, Jawa script etc. They developed and maintained interactive user interfaces, created and structured web content effectively. Through internship, students get actively engaged with the practical side of their learning like problem-solving, creative thinking, digital skills, teamwork etc.
ICICI offers jobs to 13 GNDU students
The Directorate of Placement & Career Enhancement of Guru Nanak Dev University organised a campus placement drive by ICICI Prudential Life Insurance for MBA batch 2025 students of GNDU, Amritsar. A team of two senior members visited Guru Nanak Dev University to conduct the interviews of MBA students. The company selected 13 students at a pay package of Rs 4.50 lakh per annum. These students will join their jobs after passing their respective courses in June 2025. Director Dr Amit Chopra said that ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company is promoted by ICICI Bank Limited and Prudential Corporation Holdings Limited.
Cancer awareness seminar
Partap World School, Pathankot, marked World Cancer Day with an awareness session aimed at educating students about cancer prevention and early detection. The session was conducted by Dr Ankit Gupta from SKR Hospital, alongside Major SS Heera and Commanding Officer Col Lokesh Ahlawat from the Kargil Field Regiment. Dr Ankit Gupta emphasised that with awareness, timely detection and proper treatment, even a serious illness like cancer can be overcome. He shared valuable insights on cancer prevention and early signs, empowering students with knowledge that could save lives. He also spoke about his personal experiences in the medical field, inspiring the young minds to adopt a healthy lifestyle and be vigilant about their well-being. Director Sunny Mahajan expressed his gratitude to the esteemed guests, stating, “At Partap World School, we believe in equipping our students with knowledge that extends beyond textbooks. This session has provided them with essential information that can help them make informed choices for a healthier future.”
DAV School hosts principals’ meet
Under the aegis of Sahodaya School complex, Amritsar, the CBSE examination principals’ meet was held at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road. Upasana Mehra, Principal, The Senior Study School, treasurer, Sahodaya School Complex; Guneeta Grewal, Principal, Excelsum High School, coordinator, Sahodaya School Complex; Dr Pallavi Sethi, Principal, DAV Public School, CBSE city coordinator and coordinator, Sahodaya School Complex and other Sahodya school heads were present. Dr Vinodita Sankhyan, president, Sahodaya School Complex, shared the agenda related to the upcoming Board exams. She also expressed her concern regarding the safety of students during unforeseen disruptions. Upasna Mehra, Principal, The Senior Study II School, briefed on recent CBSE circulars and addressed the queries regarding School Quality Assessment and Assurance Framework (SQAAF), Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID, skill education, and other concerns.
