Shri Ram Ashram Public School, Amritsar, celebrated the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the Indian philosopher, spiritual leader and social reformer. This day, observed as National Youth Day, honours Swami Vivekananda’s belief in the potential of youth and his enduring teachings. Principal Dr Vinodita Sankhyan addressed the students, urging them to embody Swami Vivekananda’s values of strength, compassion and dedication. Reflecting on his iconic words, “Arise, awake, and stop not until the goal is reached,” she encouraged students to lead lives of purpose, self-discipline, and service.
School pays tribute to mentors
Amritsar: Spring Dale Senior School commemorated the 16th death anniversary of its visionary mentors, late Dr Shivinder Singh Sandhu, former Managing Trustee of Spring Dale Educational Society, and Manveen Sandhu, former Principal of the school. An akhand path was organised, with the bhog ceremony held at Central Khalsa Orphanage. The event witnessed participation from the management and staff of Spring Blossoms School and Spring Dale Senior School. Chairman Sahiljit Singh Sandhu and Director Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema expressed their gratitude for the mentors’ contributions, emphasising their vision of social upliftment and youth empowerment. Principal Rajiv Kumar Sharma fondly recalled the lasting impact of their leadership and dedication.
Lohri celebrated at GGI
Amritsar: Global Group of Institutes, Amritsar, welcomed the vibrant festival of Lohri with enthusiasm and cultural fervour. The event saw active participation from management, faculty, staff, and students. Traditional folk songs, energetic giddha, and a festive bonfire brought the campus alive. Special Lohri treats like popcorn, rewaris, gachak, and groundnuts were offered to the fire and shared among everyone. Chairman Dr BS Chandi, Campus Director Dr MS Saini, and Dr PK Sharma (Dean Student Welfare) joined in the celebrations, adding warmth to the joyous occasion.
Maghi celebrations at school
Amritsar: Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary School, GT Road, celebrated Lohri with traditional fervour. The event began with the school shabad and the lighting of a bonfire by CKD office bearers. Students showcased Punjabi culture through colourful giddha and bhangra performances. CKD president Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjar shared greetings for Lohri and Maghi, emphasising the importance of celebrating daughters alongside sons. He urged teachers to educate students about the dangers of using banned Chinese kite strings and encouraged them to explore healthy and engaging recreational activities. These events reflect the spirit of celebration, tribute, and cultural values upheld by educational institutions in Punjab.
