Amritsar: Dr Vinodita Sankhyan, principal of Shri Ram Ashram Public School, The Mall, has been conferred with the title of IPN India’s Most Impactful School Leader in 2024. The award was presented by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham at the IPN Impact Honours 2024. The IPN Impact Honours aim to recognise and celebrate the achievements of exceptional school leaders who have made a significant impact on education. Dr Sankhyan was among 50 distinguished school leaders from across India, who were recognised for their outstanding contributions to education. This award is a testament to Dr Sankhyan’s unwavering commitment to providing high-quality education and inspiring future generations.
Annual sports meet
The annual sports competitions of pre-primary section were organised at Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, GT Road. Students of pre-primary classes participated in games with great enthusiasm and displayed their skills. The tiny tots participated in flat and rabbit race. The children also took part in potato, spoon and hurdle race. The enthusiastic and attractive performance of the young children on the skating rink captivated the audience.
Students visit IIT-Ropar
Students of DAV College, Amritsar, visited Technology Business Incubator Foundation at IIT-Ropar. They attended a two-day session on introduction to the start-up ecosystem. Principal Dr Amardeep Gupta informed that during the visit, they were made aware of various methods for idea generation and incubation. The sessions widened their outlook and perception. They were inspired to think differently and uniquely. Dr Atharva Poundrik, director of the TBIF, emphasised the importance of integrating skill development, research capability and entrepreneurship into modern education. Participants were encouraged to use these methodologies to leverage external expertise and create innovative solutions to tackle industry challenges.
Institute bags Award
BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, bagged the Best Action Research Institution Award 2024-25 instituted by National EduTrust of India, an organisation registered under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. The college has been recognised for its exceptional contribution towards entrepreneurial education and skill development, setting a benchmark for excellence in Punjab and beyond. The college achieved an outstanding score of 95/100, based on a comprehensive case study of the Skill-to-Entrepreneurship Programme 2024-25. This case study highlighted the college’s extensive contribution, showcasing its innovation, research and tangible impact on entrepreneurship and skill development. Principal Dr Pushpinder Walia said this award stands as a testament to the dedication and collaborative efforts of the faculty and students for fostering an entrepreneurial spirit.
