Campus notes: Student receives Sahodaya award

Vani Kapoor of The Senior Study II has been awarded the Gem Of Sahodaya Award by CBSE Sahodaya, Amritsar. She takes part in academics, dance, sports and all extracurricular activities like debates, declamations and theatre. The teachers, while congratulating Vani said that she is a professional kathak dancer and a national level squash player ranked 31 in India. She was also awarded as the best cadet for her service and hard work towards the school. The award function was held at Majha Public School Tarn Taran. Chief guest Dr Mehal Singh, Vice-Chancellor of CKD University, and core members of CBSE Sahodaya, Amritsar, congratulated the students for their achievements.

Workshop on moral values

Amritsar: A day-long workshop on moral values and teaching was organized at Khalsa College of Education (KCE) in collaboration of Khalsa University and Jagat Punjabi Sabha, Canada. KU Registrar Dr Khushwinder Kumar welcomed the Chairman of the Sabha Ajaib Singh Chatha by presenting a bouquet. He said ethics are a phenomenon, by adopting which a person can spend his life in a proper and value induced manner. Kumar emphasized on the importance of ethics in today’s fast-paced technological era and said that ethics is not a single line, but multi-faceted and only through moral values can a person lives a happy life. He said that as teachers, we have a special responsibility to be the torch-bearers of ethics in our lives and our education system must focus on teaching the students high moral values along with formal education. About 70 teachers teaching in different schools of Punjab participated in this program.

college gets new principal

Amritsar: Prof Sandeep Singh joined as the new principal of KC College of Engineering and Technology, SBS Nagar. An academician for the last 14 years, Prof Sandeep had previously been working as senior faculty in Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology, Amritsar. His expertise in designing inclusive, technology driven academic program and increasing the number of enrolments in technology based courses remain his priority while serving as principal at KC College.

Two new clubs formed

Amritsar: Rotary Club Amritsar Midtown chartered two new Interact Clubs at Bhavans Amritsar and Bhavans Islamabad, marking a significant step in youth leadership development. The event saw the establishment of new leadership for both clubs. District chairperson of Interact Neeru Issar, and Director Dr Anita Bhalla. Issar shared insights into the vision and working of Interact Clubs, emphasizing their role in nurturing future leaders. Senior Rotary leaders Avinash Mohindru, Anil Singhal, president MM Goyal, and secretary Harpreet Singh graced the occasion. This initiative reinforces our commitment to empowering young leaders and expanding the Rotary movement.
