Gatka Tournament
Spring Daleans proved their mettle and clearly outperformed gatka the competition for yet another time. The occasion was Zonal School Gatka Tournaments. Sharing information, Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, chairman, Spring Dale Educational Society, said both the boys and girls teams were lauded for their outstanding performance during the Zonal School Gatka Tournaments organized at the local Government Senior Secondary School, Karampura. Sandhu shared that the boys’ teams were adjudged the “Overall winners” of the under-14, u-17 and u-19 categories of the tournament.
Tug-of-War competition
The Ashok Vatika Public School team players did their school proud by winning the tug-of-war competition. The zonal level competition was held at Guru Nanak Stadium where they showed their sporting prowess. The students participated in three categories of the competition (under -14, under-17 and under-19). They defeated the teams of DAV Senior Secondary School, Hathi Gate, Government Senior Secondary School Rambagh, Government Senior Secondary School, Islamabad, Government Senior Secondary School, Dam Ganj, Govt High School, Sharifpura, and many other school teams. Our teams of under-14 girls and boys won the first position; the under-17 teams of girls and boys won the first position; and the under-19 team of girls won the first position and the boys’ team got the third position.
