Amritsar: The festival of Teej was celebrated with fervour on the premises of Ashok Vatika Public School. The students of Class X held a special assembly dedicated to the festival. They presented a beautiful and energetic dance performance on traditional Punjabi songs. The students also displayed the culture of Punjab and decorated the swings with flowers to make this day memorable. The tiny tots stole the show with their mesmerizing traditional dresses and danced a lot on the beats of dhol. Teej was also celebrated with great fun at the Sun Valley School, with tiny tots dressed up in traditional Punjabi attires for the festivities. A special assembly was held where director of the school Chand Pushkarna addressed the students and explained the significance of the festival.
Spring Dale shuttlers win tourney
Spring Dale School shuttlers outperformed their competitors for a clean sweep in the badminton tournament being held during the school zonal tournaments. Spring Dale Educational Society’s chairman said the badminton teams of the school were adjudged overall winners as they secured the first positions in the boys U-14,U-17 and U-19 categories, whereas the girls were the winners in the U-17 and U-19 categories. He congratulated the winning teams and their mentors. “The teams were undergoing rigorous training under the specialised coaching, which had resulted in a thumping success,” said Sandhu. Principal Rajiv Kumar Sharma shared that the school provides the facility of a state-of-the-art badminton court and specialised coaching for its budding shuttlers.
DAV College students excel
Samridhi Arora of DAV College, Amritsar, has secured first position in the university examinations by scoring 468 marks out of 700. She bagged this position in the fourth semester of B Voc Financial Market Management. Shubham Sharma secured second position by getting 463 marks .This information was shared by Principal Amardeep Gupta, who congratulated the students for their glorious achievements and wished them a bright future and success in all the upcoming semesters. The principal also lauded the untiring efforts of the Department of Commerce for these outstanding results.
Sri Guru Harkrishan Sr Sec School
Inderbir Singh Nijjar (president of Chief Khalsa Diwan) of Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School, Chabhal, appointed Ajitpal Singh Aneja as a new member incharge of the school. He was warmly welcomed by the principal and the faculty members. On this occasion, members incharge Manjeet Singh Dhillon and Adrashpinder Singh Maan were present. Principal Anureet Bawa and headmistress Simerpreet Kaur welcomed and honoured the members incharge. Chess competition
The Amritsar Club organised its third annual chess competition at Doon International School, drawing talented young players from various schools in the region. Among the participants, the children from Stalwarts World School demonstrated exceptional skill and enthusiasm, making their presence felt in the competition. Purnjyot secured second place among the U-9 players. Similarly, Bhavik Bansal secured second place among U-15 players. The principal of Stalwarts World School, Manisha Dhanuka, expressed immense pride in the students’ accomplishments. She congratulated Purnjyot, Bhavik, and all participants for their dedication, hard work and sportsmanship.
Investiture ceremony
The Millennium School hosted its investiture ceremony on the campus, where the hall of inspiration buzzed with excitement and enthusiasm. The school had the honour of welcoming distinguished guests Kiran Bedi, first woman IPS officer, as the chief guest, and two special guests Chaman Mehra, a philanthropist serving children with disabilities at Bhavan Ashray, and Renu Bhandari, a retired professor from BBK DAV College, who has dedicated her time to serving senior citizens at her old age home Mil Vartan.
