Campus notes: Yellow Day celebrated
Amritsar: To recapitulate and reinforce the effects of yellow colour, students of the pre-primary wing (Nursery and LKG) of Shri Ram Ashram Public School celebrated Yellow Day on July 17, transforming the campus into a radiant sea of yellow hues and happy views. The whole school staff was dressed in yellow attire. The special event was aimed at introducing our young learners to the vibrant colour yellow and the diverse objects associated with it. Children came dressed in stunning yellow-themed costumes, embodying characters and objects such as the sun, sunflower, minion, Tweety, Winnie The Pooh, lion, giraffe, butterfly, bumble bee, pineapple, butter popcorn, maize, fruity, maaza and Emojis with different expressions. Each child wore a crown-shaped headgear and matching cutouts, making for a colourful and joyous sight. Each costume was thoughtfully crafted bringing the yellow colour to life in a magical way. Each child spoke two sentences about their chosen yellow object or character, boosting their confidence and public speaking abilities. Principal Dr Vinodita Sankhyan expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the vibrant, joyous Yellow Day celebrations and the creativity of the young learners and unwavering support of the parents and the staff.
Students visit Employment Bureau
Students of Ryan International School on Friday visited the District Employment and Business Bureau, Amritsar. In a counselling session, students of Ryan International School were informed about important career options in the present and future employment market. On the occasion, Varun Nayar, head of Career Counsellor Department of Lovely Professional University (LPU), was present as well. He informed the students about career options in various fields of medical, non-medical, arts and commerce. Neelam Mahe, Deputy Director, District Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Officer, informed the candidates about how to prepare for the competitive exams. Career counsellor Gorav Kumar gave information about foreign employment and foreign studies to the students.
Saplings planted
Saplings were planted at Khalsa College of Education, Ranjit Avenue, to keep the environment green and increase the amount of natural oxygen. Khalsa College Governing Council’s joint secretary (Farm and Dairy) Rajbir Singh under the campaign ‘One Plant Maa De Naam’ planted various types of plants, including bougainvillea, peepal, chandni, sohna, sukhchain, mulberry, gulmohar, etc, were planted. Rajbir Singh said in order to preserve the existence of animals and humanity, every human being should plant at least one tree in the name of his mother, because if there are trees, then life is safe. He said development is very important for the country and the state, but according to the nearness of time, it is also necessary to maintain the existence of trees. Therefore, along with development, appropriate space should also be earmarked for trees so that the environment can be maintained properly.
Investiture Ceremony
Jalandhar: Army Public School, Jalandhar, conducted its investiture ceremony. The event was honoured by the chief guest, Brig Navin Sahrawat, CSO, HQ 11 Corps, Chairman, Army Public School, JRC, alongside Principal Dr Saksham Singh and vice-principal Mandeep Talwar. Sidharth Pillai of Class XII (A) was inducted as the head boy while Gunjan Nainwal of Class XII (B) was appointed as the head girl. The student council is constituted of 18 members and the event also witnessed the induction of 32 house representatives with eight appointees from each house.
Certificate Course classes
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya is imparting a French language proficiency certificate course. Launched with the aim of enhancing language skills and providing students with a competitive edge in the global job market, the course has garnered significant interest and participation from the students. This course at KMV is designed to offer students a comprehensive understanding of the French language, including its grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. The course curriculum also incorporates elements of French culture, literature, and history, providing students with a well-rounded educational experience. The college has invited a teacher Deyae from Morocco to take classes of French since she has an expertise in its teaching. This certificate course is open not only for the students of KMV, but also for men and women from outside. The fee for the course is very nominal and the timings are flexible.
